World Class Sponsors
Dear Potential Partner,
The eighth annual Queen’s Finance Association Conference (QFAC) was held in downtown Toronto at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in November 2014. The generous support from our dedicated partners and inspirational speakers allowed us to present a unique experience for our delegates. This year, QFAC 2015 continues to raise the bar and set the standard for student-run conferences not only at Queen’s, but also across the country. QFAC has most certainly made history: it was the first student-run, finance-specific conference in Canada and the first conference from the Queen’s School of Business (QSB) to be held in Toronto. We strive to be unique. Last year, we once again broke sponsorship records for conferences organized by Queen’s. In 2014 we furthered our global presence through our third annual New York City Stock Pitch Competition. The five finalists of the competition were flown to New York City to present their pitch to a panel of renowned industry professionals. In addition, QFAC 2014 set a new milestone, hosting an inaugural Merger and Acquisition Simulation. The simulation provided delegates with the unique experience to work on a live M&A transaction, beginning with valuations, working through negotiations, and finally accepting a tender offer.
Due to the continuous support from our corporate sponsors, we have had the opportunity to host events such as a conference taster, Day-on-Bay networking sessions, five star dinners, renowned keynote talks, and informative workshops. Our corporate partners represent the leaders of the finance industry and provide our delegates with an informative and inspirational experience. There is no question that all of our stakeholders received extraordinary value from their participation in QFAC 2014. Each and every year, we go beyond expectations to be the best and
QFAC 2015 will be no different.
We will continue to offer each delegate a remarkable learning experience. Simultaneously, QFAC ensures that our partners have maximum involvement and exposure to the top finance students from universities across Canada and the United States. Our mission is twofold: bridge the gap between the classroom and the real world of finance, and be regarded as the networking opportunity of the year. Moving forward, we are adding an emphasis on financial competency and literacy. The 2015 addition of speaker panels and workshops, with a combination of industry professionals and students, prior to the conference, is sure to catapult QFAC into the next echelon of increasing value to stakeholders. As always, we recognize that your support is essential to the success of QFAC. On behalf of our executive committee, we would like to express our gratitude for reviewing our proposal. We are very excited about the prospect of having your firm partnering with QFAC 2015, which will surely be an another extraordinary and unforgettable experience.
