Event Highlights

Presents A Day on Bay
QFAC’s A Day on Bay event will provide delegates with the unique opportunity to visit a Bay Street financial services firm. Each of our Day on Bay partner firms will host a small group of ten to twenty delegates in their offices. While the format may by vary at each firm, all delegates will have the chance to learn about the firms’ different lines of business, to network with many company representatives, and most importantly of all, to witness first-hand the organizational culture of a Bay Street firm. Last year’s Day of Bay partners included Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse, BMO Capital Markets, Scotia Capital, TD Asset Management, CPPIB, and Blackmont Capital.

Presents Stock Trading Simulation
The stock trading simulation is a delegate favourite and is consistently ranked as one of the most memorable events of the conference. Taking place on the old trading floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange, this is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for delegates to experience the thrills of a traditional stock exchange trading floor experience. Delegates will compete in teams of 8 or 9, along with an investment professional from a partner firm to provide help and guidance. With the ability to trade stocks in ten companies, as well as options, the stock simulation will be both a fun and a great learning experience for all delegates. This year, the winning team of the stock simulation will receive a prize sponsored by CGA Ontario.

Presents Panel Discussion
The panel discussion is an interactive event centered on a relevant topic in finance, where delegates will hear from an accomplished group of senior-level executives from major banks and financial institutions. Panelists will discuss how the topic relates to their area of expertise, followed by a question-and-answer period. The discussion is facilitated in such a way so that delegates will leave with a heightened understanding of the topic at hand.

Presents Various Workshops
QFAC 2009 will feature an exceptional lineup of workshop presenters. Delegates will have the opportunity to listen to one of these presenters speak about his/her transition from university to the financial services industry and his unique experiences along the way. The workshops will be fully interactive and delegates will have ample opportunity to ask questions and take advantage of the presenters’ extensive industry expertise and market knowledge.
