Karen Au, Co-Chair
Karen Au is a fourth year Commerce student at the Queen’s School of Business. It is her third year on the executive. As the Co-Chair of Queen's Finance Association Conference 2009, she is excited to be leading such a talented and driven group of individuals. Karen is from Toronto, Ontario, and she enjoys going out for food, yoga, travelling and spending time with her family and friends. She travelled extensively throughout South East Asia while she was on exchange at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is confident that QFAC 2009 will be a memorable experience for its corporate partners, speakers and delegates.
David Cooper, Co-Chair
David Cooper is a fourth year student, majoring in Economics, from Toronto. Although this is David’s first year on the executive, he was a delegate last year and was thoroughly impressed with QFAC. He is very excited to contribute to the conference so that it will be better than ever. Last summer, David worked in Investments at Manulife Financial. He wishes to pursue a career in investment banking upon graduation.
Mike Buchanan, Logistics Coordinator
Mike Buchanan is member of the Queen’s University Commerce class of 2011 and is from Mississauga, Ontario. Mike has been a member of the QFAC executive since the inaugural conference in 2007. He has always had a strong interest in finance, and enjoys reading financial news and investing in the stock market. In his spare time, Mike enjoys participating in a variety of sports including skiing, golf, and hockey. As the Logistics Coordinator this year, Mike is thrilled to be part of an amazing team that will make QFAC 2009 the best conference ever, delivering an incredible experience to all participants including all of our illustrious sponsors and extraordinary delegates.
David Veitch, Director of Sponsorship
David Veitch is a second year Commerce student at Queen’s University. As Sponsorship Director for QFAC 2009, he is excited to work with the many talented individuals who comprise his sponsorship team. David has a strong interest in finance and math, and plans on pursuing a career in the financial services industry. In his spare time, he likes to go out for sushi, read The Economists, and play basketball. David is confident QFAC 2009 will be a valuable experience for both delegates and sponsors alike.
Idriss Bouhmouch, Sponsorship Coordinator
Idriss Bouhmouch is a fourth year Commerce student, specializing in Finance, at Queen’s University from Montreal, Quebec. Having attended the first two QFAC conferences, Idriss is thrilled to contribute to a dedicated and passionate executive as a Sponsorship Coordinator. Idriss is excited to help other fellow students broaden their knowledge about the industry and develop new friendships by attending the conference.

David Cochrane is a second year Commerce student at Queen’s University. In his second year on the QFAC executive, he is serving as a Sponsorship Coordinator. David is excited to work with a fantastic group of sponsors to put on an unparalleled event this upcoming November.
Matei Olaru, Sponsorship Coordinator
Matei Olaru is a second year commerce student at Queen’s University from Aurora, Ontario. Following being a delegate at QFAC 2009, he is excited to be part of such a strong and vibrant executive and has big plans for the future of the conference. Matei has great interest in finance and looks forward to learning more about it, as well as other subjects, during his time at Queen’s. Matei looks forward to contributing to the conference and the incredible learning opportunities that lie ahead.
Nick Warwick, Sponsorship Coordinator
Nick Warwick is in his fourth year of his undergraduate studies with a specialization in Economics. This is Nick's first year on the executive team and he is very eager to face the challenges and obstacles that lie ahead. Nick is very interested in a career in the financial services sector, and he hopes to pursue a career in Sales and Trading.
Josh Booth, Speakers Coordinator
Joshua Booth is a fourth year Economics student at Queen’s University and he is from Toronto, Ontario. As one of two Speakers Coordinators for QFAC 2009, he is thrilled to be part of such a strong and enthusiastic executive. Joshua has a passion for finance and looks forward to learning more about the industry with his involvement with QFAC. Joshua anticipates that QFAC 2009 will once again provide incredible learning opportunities and practical finance education for the delegates. Joshua is proud to be involved in extending the QFAC experience to a set of delegates with a strong interest in finance.
Katie Hayes, Speakers Coordinator
Katie Hayes is a second year student at Queen’s, pursuing a dual degree in Commerce and Science. After attending QFAC 2008 as a delegate, she became interested in learning about the issues and opportunities in today’s markets. She is delighted to fill the role of Speakers Coordinator, and hopes to ensure that this year’s conference is an unparalleled experience for delegates and speakers alike. Katie is an avid sports fan, and hopes to work in the athletic industry upon graduation, either in finance or medicine.
Emma Lauris, Internal Delegates Coordinator
Emma Lauris is a third year Commerce student from Aurora, Ontario. As a delegate at last year’s conference, she was taken away by the incredible learning opportunities QFAC provides. Emma thinks it is an exciting time to be learning finance and come November, she knows QFAC will once again provide a great opportunity for students to hear firsthand from leading financial experts a bout where Canada stands, and how the year has unfolded.
Joanna Pleta, External Delegates Coordinator
Joanna is a third year Commerce student originally from Manila, Philippines. After an amazing experience being part of last year’s executive, Joanna is excited to be part of QFAC 2009. As the External Delegates Coordinator, she looks forward to building a close network with students from all over Canada, and showing delegates the amazing opportunities QFAC has in store for them.
Conor O’Kelly, Socials Coordinator
Conor O’Kelly is a Queen’s Commerce student and a graduate of Appleby College in Oakville, Ontario. As the Socials Coordinator for QFAC 2009, Conor can’t wait to give delegates a taste of the networking and entertainment opportunities that Canada’s financial capital has to offer. Conor is proud to be part of such a talent executive and believes that the opportunities for the delegates of QFAC 2009 are unparalleled by any other student-run conference in Canada. Conor looks forward to completing his Bachelor of Commerce in 2012 and pursuing a career in the finance industry.
Morgan Klein-MacNeil, Promotions & IT
Morgan Klein-MacNeil is a third year Commerce student, minoring in Computer Science, from Aurora, Ontario. She is excited to join the QFAC team this year as the IT & Promotions Coordinator. Morgan has a strong interest in finance and technology, and hopes to pursue a career that will allow her to combine the two. In her spare time, Morgan also works for the Queen’s Women in Leadership Conference and the Co-Chair. Morgan also enjoys dance, spending time with family and working part-time as a teaching assistant.
Patrick Meyer, Prospectus Coordinator
Patrick Meyer is a third year Commerce student at Queen’s University, specializing in Finance, and completing an option in Economics. Patrick plans on pursuing a career in corporate finance after graduation. He hopes to expand his knowledge of the financial markets over the next two years. Patrick functioned as a Sponsorship Coordinator for DECA Queen’s in 2008 and worked at National Bank Financial as a research analyst this past summer. As Prospectus Coordinator, he is excited for an interesting and challenging year preparing to make QFAC 2009 the best yet.
Stephanie Reiter, Promotions
Stephanie Reiter is a fourth year student at Queen's University. As a new addition to the team this year, Stephanie is excited to contribute to the success of QFAC through innovative promotions. She strongly believes that the dedication of the executive will provide a valuable experience for all of QFAC's delegates and sponsors. In her spare time, Stephanie also serves as Deputy Returning Officer in the student government.
Donald Gawel, First-Year Representative
Donald Gawel is a first year Commerce student at the Queen’s School of Business hailing from Etobicoke Ontario. Donald is looking forward to being part of an amazing executive and is excited about contributing to the conference as a Sponsorship Coordinator. He has a strong interest in finance and is looking forward to learning about the financial services industry. Being a part of QFAC will be Donald’s first foray into the finance sector and he is ready to add real world experience to his first class education at Queen’s.
